Notice of Ordinary General Meeting 2015
Notice is hereby given that the Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) of Convocation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at 6 p.m. at the Senior Common Room, 14/F, K. K. Leung Building, The University of Hong Kong.
The OGM will be followed by a Speech by Mr Lam Woon Kwong 林煥光(BSocSc 1974, MBuddStud 2007), Convenor of the Non-Official Members of the Executive Council at KKL202, 2/F, K. K. Leung Building, The University of Hong Kong at around 8 p.m..
Members are invited to attend the OGM. A member who cannot attend the OGM in person may appoint a proxy to vote on businesses other than on election of candidates to the Standing Committee under item 5 on the Order of Business (Rule 24).
The instrument for appointing a proxy must be in writing, signed by the member appointing the proxy and deposited with the Clerk of Convocation before 6 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2015.
Order of Business
1. To receive and confirm the Minutes of the Extraordinary General Meeting held on March 2, 2015.
2. To receive a report from the Chairman.
3. To discuss questions (if any) from members notices of which have been received by the Clerk of Convocation before 6 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2015.
4. To discuss and, if thought fit, sanction the continuation of or remove the offices of Dr POON Sun Cheong, Patrick 潘燊昌, Ms LIU Yuk Ling, Elaine 廖玉玲 who have been appointed by the Standing Committee to fill the casual vacancies in the Standing Committee membership under Paragraph 31 of Convocation Constitution, until Ordinary General Meeting 2015 and Mr CHEUNG Kwong Tat, Terence 張廣達 who has been appointed by the Standing Committee to fill the casual vacancy in the Standing Committee membership until Ordinary General Meeting 2017.
5. To elect eight members of the Standing Committee from the candidates listed in the Schedule.
6. Any other business which the Chairman considers urgent and directs to be transacted without notice thereof having been given.
