In celebration of the HKU Centenary, Convocation has invited Dr Joseph S.P. Ting, an HKU graduate and former Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of History, to give a talk on the role of HKU in Hong Kong, China and the world. Dr Ting will reflect on thesignificant events that led to the founding of HKU, and explore how the role and position of HKU have evolved in the past century. Joseph S.P. Ting, HKU graduate (BA, MPhil, PhD HK), former Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of History, he is currently the Honorary Assistant Professor of the Department of Chinese, The University of Hong Kong, Adjunct Professor and Honorary Senior Research Fellow of the Department of History, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Honorary Fellow of the Hong Kong Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society, Deputy Director of the Local Records Office and advisor/member of various local and Mainland museums and cultural institutes.
